So, I decided to shake up my profile a bit more on a couple of sites, and changed it to:
Looking for mates (as in other down-to-earth, well balanced, guys to hang out with) - prefer down to earth blokey guys who like the outdoors. Up for dinners, drinks, gym buddies, travel buddies, whatever. Always up for meeting cool guys who can show me something new about the world and challenge me.
Beyond mates, I'm open to various options, though a stable relationship is the ideal. I'm not looking for hookups, as sleeping with guys I'm not into on some deep level leaves me feeling cheap (and apparently seems to cause heartbreak to others too often, which makes me fee like cr#p).
I appreciate a good sense of humor and sarcasm, along with unshakable optimism. Oh, and smart is sexy. VERY sexy. Total geek at heart here. Do you enjoy the company of someone who knows/cares about what is happening in the world (beyond your own bubble), and that can carry a conversation, regardless of their formal education? I sure do, and can offer the same in return.
I'm open to most types of men, and am continuously surprised by the diversity of guys out there that I find sexy, but I do have my favorite types: guys with brains, good cuddles, nice smiles, accents, PhDs, astronauts, nice arms, guys that do something interesting or valuable for society with their lives, or guys that can intellectually challenge me, move to the front of the line.
I learned long ago that listening to Mike Rowe narrate shows about quasars, dark matter, super-massive black holes, and the origin/future of the universe is damn near porn for my soul. I will never get sick of that! :)
Guys who want NSA sex are my lowest priority, so if you're not looking for some real connection, them I'm not interested, so please spare us both the waste of time.
I think it does a good job of defining who I am, and what I'm looking for, no?
